Go Italian with this mouth watering selection of toasted gluten free ciabatta sandwiches.
Suitable for people diagnosed with coeliac disease, those who are suffering from a gluten and wheat allergy or intolerance.
Take one DS –gluten free Ciabatta Roll (
brown or
white) and add the filling of your choice (see our suggestions below). Place on a hot griddle pan or sandwich toaster and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Tuna, Mayo, Olive and Cheddar Melt
50g tuna, combined with 2 tsp gluten free mayonnaise
15g Cheddar cheese, sliced
2–3 black olives, sliced
Minute Steak and Stilton
40-50g thin minute or frying steak, fried on a hot griddle pan for 1 minute on one side and 30 seconds on the other side (or according to taste)
15g stilton, crumbled
N/B If the steak is too thick, bash between two pieces of cling film with a rolling pin.
Chicken, Bacon and BBQ Sauce
30-40g cooked chicken
1 rasher of cooked smoked bacon
1 tbsp BBQ sauce
Pesto, Sundried Tomato and Mozzarella
2 tsp pesto, spread in the middle of the ciabatta roll
2 sundried tomatoes, sliced
30g mozzarella, sliced
Brie, Cranberry and Bacon
2–3 sliced brie
2 tsp cranberry sauce or redcurrant jelly
1 rasher of cooked smoked bacon
Griddle Fried Vegetables with Goat Cheese
1 baby courgette, sliced vertically into 4
3 -4 slices of raw red pepper or red pepper from a jar
¼ small onion
1 tsp olive oil
15g goat’s cheese
Cracked black pepper
Heat the olive oil in a griddle pan and pan fry the courgette, raw red pepper and red onion before putting in the ciabatta roll with the goat’s cheese.
