honeyed cranberry pears


Perfect for people with a sweet tooth!

Suitable for people diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, those who are suffering from a gluten and wheat allergy or intolerance.

Ingredients

2 ripe pears - peeled
30ml (2 tbsp) clear honey
225 ml (8fl oz) cranberry juice

Method

1. Place the pears in a small pan, add the honey and cranberry juice, if the cranberry juice does not cover the pears add more juice or water.
2. Bring the pan to the boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until just cooked. Allow to cool in the cooking liquor.
3. Remove the pears and heat the remaining liquor to a rapid boil until it has reduced by ¾.
4. Place the pears on individual serving plates and spoon over the cranberry syrup.
